About Us

An affiliated club of UTS Union Ltd., BIG was originally founded to caterfor students undertaking Bachelor degrees in Information Technology. Since it's inception, however, BIG has attracted interest from students of other faculties and is now one of the leading social societies at the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS).

BIG aims to provide all members with the opportunity to participate in a variety of social events throughout the year, including start and end of semester parties, harbour cruises, inter-uni sporting competitions, trivia nights, graduation functions and more. With a member-base of over 200 students across various UTS faculties and some other universities, BIG offers a flagship event each semester, starting with the annual Motion harbour cruise in early Autumn semester and the renowned Haunted Halloween party at the end of Spring semester.

Each year, an Annual General Meeting (AGM) is held to elect club members to the executive team, the group of BIG members responsible for organising events and maintaining the club. Each appointment is valid for a period of 12 months.
