Sponsorship

BiG is a social society for IT students at the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS). We are currently looking for sponsors for 2011 and were hoping that your company would be able to provide sponsorship to our society to enable us to host events for our members.

A little bit of BiG history

BIG was originally founded to cater for students undertaking Bachelor degrees in Information Technology. Since its inception however, BIG has attracted interest from students of other faculties and is now one of the leading social societies at UTS.

BIG aims to provide all members with the opportunity to participate in a variety of social events throughout the year, including start and end of semester parties, harbour cruises, inter-university sporting competitions, trivia nights, graduation functions and more. BiG has a member-base of over 250 IT students and 50 other students across various UTS faculties and some other universities.

We offer a flagship event each semester, starting with the annual Motion Harbour Cruise early in the Autumn semester and a Halloween Party, which is to be held on the 22nd of October.

What is changing?

In the second semester of 2010, BIG added a few career aligned functions to its portfolio of events. The first of which, a Deloitte Innovation workshop, was conducted during the first week of this semester. A notable number of our members attended, and the positive feedback that was received showed that it was a pretty big success.

The next career aligned event that BIG has planned is a Career Information Evening. For this event, we require five speakers of different roles, preferably from different industries to talk about how they got to where they are today. We are looking for speakers that undertook degrees similar to Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT) and Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BScIT), so they can talk on a level that is on par with that of current IT students at UTS.

How can I, as a sponsor, get involved?

In 2011, we are kicking off an innovative new approach to sponsorship which has the aim of enabling the sponsors to interact on an entirely new level with our members. We will categorise sponsors as being Gold or Silver, each with different benefits that is dependent on the amount donated to our society. More information as to these different grades of sponsorship can be seen below.

Corporate Sponsorship

There are currently two corporate sponsorship packages – Gold and Silver – although we are not limited to only these figures. The benefits of each package are described below. If you are interested in sponsorship please contact: info@utsbig.com.au

Company logo on our website with a hyperlink to your company webpage
You will be mentioned as a significant sponsor at all industry events as well as social events (if desired)
Your logo will be placed on marketing materials for industry events as well as social events (If desired). This includes emails, posters, tickets, etc.
Merchandise and material that you provide us will be made available to students at some of our events.
We will place a blurb about your company on our website under the “Sponsorship page”. Our members and guests regularly check our website to see what is going on and how they can get involved.
Posting up-coming job information on our website. In every social and academic event-related email, and the half yearly and yearly BiG report emails that are sent out, we will ask members to have a look at the Job Opportunities. Sponsors can assume that members will regularly check this page.
Direct marketing of jobs through emails to BiG members. We will send emails on your behalf to our members.	(2 emails per semester)
